Skylar Speedwell is a queer, interdisciplinary artist, working within the practices of analog photography, fiber arts, printmaking, and book arts. They are currently living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Studio Arts at Kendall College of Art and Design. Skylar’s work has been exhibited alongside students in West Michigan. They also work remotely for Nevada-based artist Rora Blue, the creator of the online archive The Unsent Project. Skylar’s work primarily examines the discontinuation of traumatic generational cycles through self-reflection. They live with their cat, Junebug, and they find inspiration and solace in visits to Lake Michigan.
